Easter '20 Special: Under 1400 elo Tournament

Post by paulwise3 »

Hi all,

Because last years Low Performer Tournament was a success, Michael and I would like to organize again a tournament with chess computers that are rarely used.

This time we would like to play with dedicated chess computers with a max active elo of 1400, according to the Wiki-elo-liste (https://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/i ... -Elo-Liste) and their possible clones (https://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/i ... itle=Klone)

Unlike the last time, this time the computer with the most points wins the tournament.
The games will be played with the 30 seconds per move level, at the chess site https://lichess.org.

So if you are interested, let it know here, and tell us with which computer you would like to play.

My entry would be the Excalibur Chess Station, but I can switch to another if necessary.
Michael will play with Chafitz ARB Sargon 2.5.
Eric (esinger) proposes Fidelity Classic (1164 elo) or Sensory Chess Challenger (8? 1116 elo) but I hope he has something a little stronger ;-).

So let us hear from you, are you interested?

Tournament regards,
Paul

Hi Guys,

I don’t have anything on the list between 1300 - 1400 however I do have a Mephisto II 1802 6.1 MHz graded at 1401 Activ or 1332 SDSF on the same site, it’s also listed at 1332 on Nick’s Spacious Mind site.

If that’s allowed then count me in

Thanks,

Al.

I could play with

Mephisto ESB II, 3.5 MHz , Nietsche, Henne
Scisys Sensor Chess + Strong Play Modul , Kaplan,
Milton Bradley - Grandmaster, Taylor

Hi,
sticking to the idea of having Kaare Danielsen present, please enter: Yeno 320XT, normal style.
It should not be much more than a sparring partner... :D
Cheers,
Eric

@Steffen: Interesting choice Steffen! It appears not on the wiki-list, but it can be found there. I am very curious how it will perform :-).

@Al and Ralf: I accept both entries for the Mephisto II. I also have this module but it seems defect :-(.

@Eric (Tibono2): If the 320XT really is a Danielsen then I guess it is heavily underrated. So it might surprise you!

So until now we have:
Michael - Chafitz ARB Sargon 2.5
Eric (esinger) - Fidelity Classic
Steffen - Fidelity Grandmaster Voice
Al - Mephisto II 1802 6.1 MHz
Ralf - Mephisto ESB II 3.5 MHz
Eric (Tibono2) - Yeno 320XT, normal style.
Paul - Excalibur Chess Station (but i can change if someone else likes to play with it)

Who's next: Nick, Dave, Helge, Gerhard, ... ?

Best regards,
Paul

I think it does not make sense to use two of the Mephsito II, with only the difference of the MHz.

So i would take the Scisys Sensor Chess with the Strong Module. Perhaps it's rating is about 1300 ore below, i would like to try.

Even the Milton Grandmaster would be interesting, as there are several ELOs are in different lists. Perhaps i could play as a second one.

Hi Eric,
The King Arthur would be an excellent choice with 1380 elo! :-)

Hi Ralf,

I overlooked the other choices you gave. The Scisys Sensor Chess with the Strong Module is a very interesting choice too!
And even the Milton Grandmaster could compete. I once saw him even beating the Excalibur Phantom Force... But that was an exception of course.
Let us wait and see who else participates. If you have time enough in this corona age you could participate with a second computer.

Regards, Paul

Hi,

I would like to enter with a Maestro Schachprofessor, although I don't have one yet, but it should not be to hard to find one. If my search fails here, I have a "My first Mephisto" which should be of comparatable strenght but has no draw rules.

Best wishes to all,

Gerhard
