34..RESIGNS
personally i was hoping for something different out of this match but i failed to anticipate being out booked by a strong database which we could have easily prohibited from the start
none the less.. i congratulate the Team for a well fought game
the mystery engine was Deep Sjeng 1.8
starting off the New Year the Team will have a formidable opponent in Hiarcs running on an 8 way box
for that game any assistance is allowed to the team
For Those of you interested in how the game looked to the Res II as it progressed ..
the following table begins after move 9 which was Deep Sjeng's first out of book move
Mo=Move number
TH=Team Hiarcs Move
D1.8=Deep Sjeng's move
Ev=evaluation
Dep=Depth search ..Brute Force/Selective
Er=Expected Reply
moves 29 and 30 were virtually forced moves so i did not let the computer think for the full one hour and therefore there are no entries for Ev,Dep and Er

Good Game, Steve! The Res II played well with no errors, it was simply out-booked.
We even added to theory Steve, Black is busted in that sub-variation.
You're a Good Sport! Regards,
Terry
Black may lose in that variation but I doubt if white could find the right way against better moves
For example 16...Nxe5(suggested by rybka2.3.2a) may be better move than 16...f6
Uri
How about, 16..Nxe5 17.Qxe5 gxh6 18.Rd3 Kh7 19.Rg3 Rg8 20.Rhh3 Ra7 21.Qd4 Rb7 22.Bxa6 Rb8 23.Be2 Rb7 24.Rxg8 Qxg8 25.Rg3 Qh8 26.Bd3+ f5 27.Ba6 Rc7 28.Bxc8 Qxd4 29.cxd4 Rxc8 30.Re3 Re8 31.h5!
I believe Black is busted.
Terry
You may be right
Rybka prefers 21...Rd7 in your line but the score is good for white
1.4/21
Except this move only 18...f6 seems to be a possible alternative earlier in your line(other alternatives are more than 1.5 pawns for white based on rybka).
Note that I also found that rybka after long time changes its mind to 16...f6 that was played in the game and here is the analysis
Maybe deep sjeng on old computer is stronger than rybka32 bit on A3000 because deep sjeng played 16...f6 after one hour of search.
