mutants-designer 2100 display vs montecarlo IV -12Mhz

Post by yoyo_chessboard »

Hi

i have modified many of my chess boards but very few are playable because they are almost all open

i have started to close some of them.
i have started to make them play each againt the other and intend to follow that good "new year resolution".

for the moment i have re-mounted too few but at least :
a designer 2100 display which is running at 12 Mhz (instead of 6 mhz)
on the other side i have a
monte carlo IV schroder running the LE program at 12 Mhz ( instead of 4 Mhz for montecarlo IV and 8 Mhz for montecarlo IV LE)

setting the designer 2100 display at 15 seconds per move and montecarlo IV at 10 seconds,
with this strange setting : 15 seconds for designer is 30 seconds for the factory designer 2100
10 seconds for my montecarloIV is 30 seconds for factory montecarlo IV whic doesn't have anything between 10 and 30 seconds.
their CPU is at the same speed : 12 Mhz

i have for the moment the following result :
mephisto montecarlo : 2 - fidelity designer 2100 display : 0

does this score it sound logic to you ?
do you have any suggestion(s) to have more accurate comparison results ?

is the montecarlo (Morsch) stronger than the montecarlo IV(Schroder) at a given clockrate.

to run at those speeds i have change many of the IC :
of course CPU, RAM, ROM but not only and also modified some subroutines that interact with the real world :
so it is really an hardware/software project, with software disassembly and reassembly and not just an overclocking
it was very interesting challenge even very very time consuming !

on my desk i have also waiting to fight :
a mephisto milano nigel short at 16 Mhz (instead of 4.9 Mhz )
a designer 2000 (non display ) at 15 Mhz (instead of 3 Mhz)
and will re-mount them soon to see how they behave in real game.

and some other waiting :
modena
mephisto module IV and V (MM IV and MMV),...

regards.
