I have no idea what UTC+1h means. Wish people would stick to the good old GMT times or just say it is 3.00 in Germany etc lol.

These new millennials just make life much tooooooooo complicated for everyone including themselves!! They keep reinventing the wheel for the worse!!

So don't blame me if I end missing the game because of not knowing what the time is! :)

Ok will continue playing my tourney then. You confused me this morning. If you check the PM's you said OK for game at 13.00 which by my math means we should have started an hour ago unless clocks in Germany nowadays also work differently :)

Lichess Evaluation

Mephisto Almeria 68,000
2 Inaccuracies
2 Mistakes
0 Blunders
15 Average centipawn loss

Mephisto Vancouver 68,000
2 Inaccuracies
2 Mistakes
0 Blunders
15 Average centipawn loss

But the game really should not have ended in a friendly draw. Mephisto Almeria missed a couple of golden opportunities to take another high flying scalp! Here is the best of those opportunities.

Missed Opportunity

[fen]7r/3Pkppp/p1Q1p3/b2p4/5B2/P3Pb2/1q3PPP/2R3K1 w - - 0 26[/fen]

In this position Mephisto Almeria played 26. Bd6? it was not the best move. The natural move 26. gxf3! was much better. Almeria had all sorts of threats going on in this position. So in the end you could say that Vancouver was the lucky recipient of this draw :)

Well surprisingly Almeria gets a win and a loss against Berlin 68000 and a draw and a loss against Vancouver 68000.

Bit of a surprise really that it gets anything when you consider that Almeria was the oldest of these 68,000 Lang's playing in this tournament.

Perhaps the improvement differences were not that great after all.

Anyway Almeria still has to play Portorose, Lyon and London.

Best regards
Nick

Hi Michael,

My problem is that my Rev2 is permantly set up on our dining table, I only have a small maisonette and the misses hates me having my sets out. As you said I’m working on PicoChess, not just compiling new Engines but also heavily involved in testing the newest code.

When she’s at work tomorrow I’ll put the Rev2 to one side and grab the Berlin-London and reassociate myself with it and give you a shout.

Cheers,

Al.

That's not only your problem! :P For 3000,-- Euro DGT could spend a solution for that; almost all of us suffer from this....

....sounds good - let's finish until she's back.....! 8)

Commiserative Regards, Michael
