Exclusive Genius -R30 v 2.5

Post by donkeylane »

Here we go with the 12 game match between these two computers, just to reiterate, the Exclusive is running at 300mhz and will be using it's master book, and the R30 is set to normal playing style and is using it's random book, the time settings are the old classical ones,40 in 2,followed by 20 in 1.

Onto game 3,yes I am pleased with this buy,I don't see how for this price, and the features and strength that it can be faulted.

Game 5 I am enjoying these games,I think a lot of the interest in a game often revolves around a dubious move or a mistake, anyhow.

Game 7 of what so far, I think, has been an intriguing encounter.

Close match... MCGE leads 5-4
MCGE scored 7 and TR2.5 scored 6.5 in the High Performer Tourney
with the MCGE winning their individual encounter
your results match those very closely so far with 3 games to go
TR2.5 has a solid rating of 2330-2350 ..after your 12 game match we can calculate a Performance rating for the MCGE

Confirming Regards

Here we go with game 11.
Exclusive Genius (white ) R30 (black) [ECO A29]
1.c4-e5 2.Nc3-Nf6 3.Nf3-Nc6 4.g3-Bb4 5.Bg2 0-0 6.0-0 e4 7.Ng5-Bc3 8.dc3-Qe7 (o.o.b ) 9.Nh3 (o.o.b )-d6 10.Nf4-Re8 11.Nd5-Nd5 12.cd5-Ne5 (it does seem to be an aspect of the active style of the R30, at least from these few games, to give up a pawn for more activity) 13.Be4-Bh3 14.Re1-c5 15.Qc2 (+1.17)-Ng6 (-0.45) 16.Bh1-Bg4 17.c4-Be2 18.Qd2? (better was Bf4)-Qe5 19.Bf3-Bf3 20.Re5-Ne5 21.Qc3-Be4 22.Bf4-Nf3+ 23.Kg2-Nd4+ 24.Kf1-Bf5 25.g4-Bg4 26.Bd6-b6 27.b4-Be2+ 28.Kg2-Re4 29.bc5-Bf3+ 30.Kf1-Be2+ 31.Kg2-Bf3+ 32.Kf1-Be2+ 33.Kg2 3 fold rep 1/2-1/2 well they don't get much closer than this 5.5-5.5 Steve C.

The final game of the match, actually Steve, without being too pedantic, although the MCGE did beat the R30 in their individual encounter in the high performer tourney, the R30 did finish above it in the table, getting 7 points to the MCGE's 6.5.
R30 (white ) Exclusive Genius (black) [ECO A11]
1.c4-c6 2.Nf3-d5 3.e3-Nf6 4.Nc3 (o.o.b )-a6 5.d4-b5 6.cd5-cd5 7.Bd3-e6 8.0-0 Bb7 9.Bd2-Bd6 10.b4-Nc6 (o.o.b )11.a4?! (this does weaken the queenside structure, a3 would have been better )-Nb4 12.Be2-ba4 13.Qa4+ Bc6 14.Qb3 0-0 15.Rfc1-Rb8 16.Rcb1-Qc7 17.Na4-Ne4 18.h3 (-1.02)-Bb5 (+1.23) 19.Bb5-Nc2 20.Ba5-Qa5 21.Qc2-ab5 22.Nb5-Qc3 23.Qd1-b4 24.Na4-Qc6 25.Rc1-Qb5 26.Nd2-Nd2 27.Qd2-Rfc8 28.Rc8+ Rc8 29.Nc5-Bc5 30.dc5-Qc5 31.Rb1-Rb8 32.Qd1-h6 33.Rc1-Qb5 34.Qb3-Qa6 35.g3-Qa3 36.Rb1-Qb3 37.Rb3-Kf8 38.Kf1-Ke7 39.Ke2-Kd6 40.Kd3-Kc5 41.h4-Ra8 42.Rb2-Ra3+ 43.Kd2-Kc4 44.Rc2+ Rc3 45.Rb2-b3 46.g4-Kb4 47.f3-e5 48.Rb1-Rc2+ 49.Kd3-e4+ 50.fe4-de4+ 51.Ke4-b2 52.g5-hg5 53.hg5-Kb3 54.g6-f6 55.Kf5-Rc6 56.e4-Ka2 0-1 so the MCGE pips the R30 at the post, by my reckoning that gives the MCGE 29 elo points over the R30,a fascinating match ,hope you all enjoyed playing through the games.Final score MCGE 6.5 - R30 5.5 .Now then I wonder what Millenium might have planned for the new year, any ideas? Very interesting contest, thanks for doing this. As regards to next year on the German site there are rumors that the new program will be a version of The King as an update for the MCGE. This has not been officially confirmed but Millennium have said there will be a new program update and possibly some new opening books for this product at the beginning of 2018. Some more concrete news is expected in the autumn.

As an addendum to the match between these two computers, and the difference of opinion between the strongest settings for the R30, we don't argue on this site we're more civilized than that, I did conduct a 10 game match between these two, and had the R30 on normal setting, the result was 7-3 to the MCGE which, on that showing would indicate the active setting is indeed stronger than the normal setting, so I stand corrected, and can submit those games if required.
