Montreux Kasparov Edition

Yes it is quite rare as the seller says. However, as good as this machine
is, I'm thinking the seller is being a bit ambitious with the price. I'm
following this one to see if anyone bites.
I'd have thought the Kasparov edition would have been made unique by,
perhaps, factory upgraded RAM and even an upgraded clock speed. It
seems it is no different to the stock Montreux.
Still, I'd have grabbed it at US $1K.
Note that even though there are pictures with something showing on the
dispay, a prospective buyer would be well advised to ask if it is fully
functional, as returns will not be accepted.
Looking at the power adaptor, I noticed that apart from it being non
original from Mephisto, it supplies only 500mA, while on the back of the
unit itself it specifies 1A.
While we are on the subject, would'nt you have thought the later ARM6
processor would have been a performance upgrade compared to the
earlier, and physically bigger, ARM2?

What about this:

Is it reasonably priced in your opinion ?

The board is floating on that site since months, along with other items that on ebay are sold at about 1/3 (like the €699 Magellan module, an auction on which yesterday closed at €251 and I did not even care to bid).

Best,

Mauro

1600 euro for just the comp, pieces and owners manual for
a non NY Montreux. I guess they figure a wealthy person who is not price conscious might happen along.
I did think the Magellan modules would go.
