Hi Michael,

If you ever wondered what I am using for my Swiss Tournament. It is a program called Vega 7.4.8 www.vegachess.com author Luigi Forlano

It is brilliant as it provides great tables for export to xls etc and it automatically creates a pretty site that you keep either locally or add it to your own website.

Check it out sometime. For my uses I thought it was the best one out there. It is also free for up to 30 participants. If you have more than that then you can buy it.

Best regards
Nick

Hi Nick,

thanks - I'll check it!

Can you generate a complete round robin tournament plan beforehand, without having the results yet or do you have to enter the result before starting the next round?

Michael,

It appears that Dave has a slight advantage over the rest of us, ELO 23771 ? 😳

Hi Michael,

I don't know it has a lot of options. I remember setting mine up to do the rounds each time based on the previous round results because of having so many programs without a real rating established.

Don't change what you have already created, it's fine and works. I just wanted to show you Vega because of the many options it has and the way it creates webpages without you doing any work. Maybe you will find it useful someday for a Swiss or Team tournament.

Best regards
Nick

Hi Michael
it is only fair for you to declare which computer you will operate in order for the other competitors to know what they will be up against

Hi Brian,

I didn't want to block any chess computer that might come up - but, ok, I'll take London 68030 with my Bavaria board.

I got an answer from Luigi, the programmer of Vega: Luigi will implement the round robin calender in html for webpages - currently the round robin calender is only available in .txt format.

Hi 4.9,

I'm ok with the participation of your Mach4/50MHz - are you ok with the strong opponents?
