Champions of defeats...

Post by Fernando »

Defeated by Karpov 2294, defeated by Turbo chess, defeated by both CM2000 and 2100, defeated by Gideon, defeated, defeated...

Anyone dare to play a game with me....?

Crepuscular regards

This is why I keep a CC7 around. To prove to myself, when needed, that I haven't completely forgotten how to move the pieces.

...and to watch the mesmerizing red LEDS flash while CC7 is thinking, of course.

I do the same, but I take off one of its knights to get an even game...

CC7 is a hard to beat one. Never found the magic take-back key.
Fortunately I then got an Excellence...
big relief regards

Suggestion:

Excalibur Grandmaster at default setting.

That will make you feel better.

And, no thinking....just attack.

Oh....forgot: offer useless material on the other side of the board.

Today I won my first game against the Fidelity Excellence since I restarted playing chess back in December 2016. Actually I made a massive take back in the opening having being surprised by a certain Colle Zukertort deviation, but being my 6 years old watching Pokemon cartoons on tv next to me I felt somewhat excused.

According to Shredder ios, my current rolling rating is about 1650 fide, which it is "marketing rating" for sure as I still find it difficult to project positions beyond the third ply.

Neurons decay makes sure I will never get back to my 30-years-ago rating, so I am buying decently weak boards like the Mephisto (Saitek) Chess Challenger, which has a decently nice "adapting level 8" on which I feed my ego from time to time.

And, yes, my family hate chess !!

Obs-chessed regards,

M

I laughed so hard when I read this, and also Tibono's, reply. Today I tried one better, taking off all the pieces, and playing blindfold.

I won CC7's queen early, but blundered my own queen back back a dozen moves later. Fortunately I could soon trade down to K+4P vs K, and after queening a couple of my pawns - I mean, why stop at one? -

There is an extremely funny tale by Woody Allen about a mail game between two cantankerous old farts....get it...
BTW, CC7 is too strong. Maybe CC1 should do the trick....

Found the Woody Allen story. :D

There is currently a Tryom CC-700 on ebay. Surely, on a good day, on its weakest level, with it giving you queen odds, you'd stand a chance against its darting, cunning, vigorous rooks?

I prefer the mk-2
It is the most spirited, neatest sounding of them all
To set level press F enter, then 8 for 1-3 min, 7, 6 etc then enter
To remove its queen, B enter, then press enter over and over until an 8 shows up, then press clear, then enter again and again until the dashes reappear

CC-700
Also very good
I play three at one time, and I feel like Bobby Fisher!

Chess, when I am tired, is more fun this way to me!

This Excalibur Karpov 2294 really looks like a Novag!
I point out the pieces symbols on keyboard: typical Novag-like design.
And Kittinger inside...
