Is my chess computer cheating on me?

Post by microhenri »

Hi all,
I did play a game against my Advance travel chess computer from Saitek. The level was set to 2ply.

It went pretty good until I did lost my knight. (Yes, It happens) Then it went from bad to worse.

After a few moves he told me “mate in 3” !!!

Mate in 3? How is this possible? I did tell him not to look any deeper than 2 ply. How can he see a mate in 3? Is there any logical explanation for this?
