I played the test GAME 1, with Portorose emulation and I set maximum speed. The test was executed for 1s and 30s per move. This is an interesting result, identical as Mephisto TM Portorose 68030 36MHz.

I test differences between Vancouver and Portorose emulate engines on this situation.

The best move is 28. ... Dxh2+!!. Vancouver resolves it for 12s and Portorose 4m 14s. Original Portorose 68020 32bit resolve it for 1h 4m!! Original Mephisto MM V and Atlanta resolve for 36s and 37s, this is very interesting.

Phoenix prepares also new engines for this year like Polgar, Glasgow, MMV, Rebel, Hiarcs, Shredder or Stockfish.

Yes, but you compare 30 years old program with 4 years old program and iPad (ARM A7) versus ARM A5 maybe.

Other results:

Reflection Lyon 27s
Reflection Portorose 14s
Reflection Almeria 7s
Reflection London 3s

Dave,

Congrats, I remember you looking for one but didn't know if you ever got one. R30's are nice machines right? :)

Best regards

R30 Update

Post by Dave C »

Thank you Nick and Larry,

After a couple of close calls last year, I bought one :D on ebay. Unfortunately not that one, Larry. Back in April I bid on one. [Schachcomputer: Tasc R30, Version 2.5 + SmartBoard SB30 mit Figurenerkennung ( 231910648525 )].

It took me a while to resuscitate my wife after she fainted...

I appreciate the helpful suggestions from a couple of forum members thru PMs last year concerning shopping for R30's. What a great design and a very cool machine.

Happy regards,
Dave

How does PM work here, I've tried several times to PM people, but they stick in my 'OUT' bucket and never send?

Cheers,

Al.
