I have now played twelve blitz games (tournament conditions, no take backs) and have scored two wins, four draws and six losses. As mentioned earlier, the MCGE tends to undervalue king safety; here is an example of the computer blithely going pawn hunting with not a worry in the world until it's too late:

Snatching the pawn looks suicidal to me. I haven't checked with a PC engine; maybe the final mistake was later.

Very Nice Work Steffen
NOW... for the ultimate test
Fern's link to 76 positions to determine ELO
http://www.elometer.net
3 min per move
with the piece recognition board it should be Eazy Peezy to set up all of the positions
be careful ..the test will accept illegal moves
God Speed Regards

I know the perfect companion to sit by your side while you are making the teststeffen wrote:Thank you for your compliments, Steve. You know how much work this is.
Took me 8 hours last sunny Sunday
I will have a look whether I find the time for your good idea.

My Millennium Exclusive arrived today!!!
The Box is much bigger than I expected and a very impressive looking box!!
Handcrafted no less! 2 big opening books, 2300 ELO and 7 languages! What more do you need...
Back of the box is in German. It says that you set the speed up from 50 MHz to 300 MHz. If that is true then that is also nice feature.
Well folks! The box is so nicely made that I think I am not going to spoil it by opening it. It's up on the shelf with this one...

Quick first Impressions:
board reminds me of the Novag Citrine but with pieces that actually fit the board
for lefties like me the option to attach the cable and display unit on the left side is great
would be nice if the display unit folded over to close
hopefully Millennium will sell extra piece sets
one big problem with piece recognition boards
if one piece goes defective..you cant play a game
Unpacking Regards
Steve

Unwrapping the Millennium Exclusive
The Millennium package arrived on Monday! What fun it was to open the Exclusive boxes. As Nick noted, the construction of the boxes and packaging are very well designed and assembled. As I opened the boxes it caused me to think that if Millennium applies the same level of attention to details and precision to the construction of the Exclusive board, control module and accessories it will be quite a nice dedicated chess computer....and it is.
The Millennium board and control module bare more than a passing resemblance to the TASC R30 and TASC SB30 board. The board is a slightly smaller than the SB30 but not too small to easily grasp and move the pieces. The 81 small LEDs on the board are much brighter than those on the SB30. The chess pieces are nearly identical to, but slightly smaller than the SB30 chess pieces. The size of the chess pieces is perfect for the size of the board's squares. The separate control module has a large and easy to read screen and is fairly intuitive to use.
Overall, there is still much to discover about the new Exclusive chess computer, however, its ease of use, the solid construction and attention to detail is encouraging.
Very impressed....regards,
Dave

An Interesting oddity for the MCGE
seems(due to memory limitations) the computer cannot play a game past 220 moves(440 ply)
well ,,that ruins the computer for me as most of my games go 300-400 moves
anyway...
I Played a quick 5 Min.Blitz(Classic Book) just to see if everything was working
[Date "2017.5.25"]
[White "Steve B"]
[Black "MCGE"]
[TimeControl "5 Min. Blitz"]
[Result "1/2-1/2"]
1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 e6 4.e3 Bd6 5.Nc3 Nf6 6.Bd3 Nbd7 7.O-O O-O 8.cxd5

FINAL POSITION
[fen]r1r5/pp2bpkR/2p1b3/8/1q1P4/2QB1N2/PP3PPP/6K1 w - - 0 27[/fen]
Draw by 3 fold Rep
the fact that i could draw against the MCGE in a 5 Min Blitz
means i have now lost all respect for its playing strength and i am dissatisfied with my purchase
i think ill turn things over to the Savant ll...
Breaking It In Regards
