See if you can make head or tail of it, will you? On the front is the
control panel from a Fidelity CC7, by the look of it. On top are buttons
which suggest that a position can be set up. Included is an adaptor
with an output of 8.5volts AC, which tells us it is not for the CC7, but
probably for a later Champion version. They look like Champion pieces.
The chess playing surface appears
to be just manual, ie, not pressure nor auto sensory. However, you can
see wiring through the hole.
If I saw this on a flea market stall I would probably pay the $20,
because the adaptor and pieces are probably worth it.
Hard to imagine why someone would go to the effort of making
such a contraption.

This one wins the oddball chess computer competition

Now we see the sad results of modifying a chess computer(and the true intention of the Modders)
they start quietly enough with seemingly innocent clock speed mods....
then the modders (feeling emboldened) increase their activity to changing the entire insides of beautiful wooden chess computers with replacement mother boards
once a computer has been modified so deeply ..the modification takes on a life of its own and eventually the actual physical appearance of the computer becomes this distorted mangled mutilated combination of god knows what
