hello fellow forum members my name is ian from birmingham england... i have a president chess computer since 1994 and going strong.. however would appreciate the opportunity for someone to give us a few games against their computers also around same level ... also would like some pointers as done vast amount of research... yes default settings seem to be the strongest yet the schumacher lists active setting with a higher elo anyone care to shed some light on which level gives the highest elo for the president also am after another machine if anyone can help pls pls get in touch many thanks ian
Hi Ian,
Welcome to the Hiarcs forum in this link you can find other machines:

I do not own the president but Steve does so probably today or tomorrow he will show up and answer about strongest settings for the president.

As Ricardo mentions i do own a President however
i generally dont follow the rating's for a computer on any setting other then the recommended or Startup settings
even using the standard settings there can be a range of different rating's across the different Ratings sources out there
Selective Search rates the President at 1994 which is a minimum of 1 minute per move
The Schachcomputer Wiki shows the President at 2018 Active...lower then their 2030 Tournament rating for it
While The SSDF clocked it in at 1979
1979-2030 Regards
Steve

I will have some time the week of April 16throokorbycrook wrote:yes steve if you have time a match would be good to see
it will be good practice for the upcoming 2013 Paris Dedciated tournament to be held on May 5th
i will be operating the Revelation Polgar in that event
in our match...
you will operate the President
i suggest a time control of 1 Min per Move Avg.
i assume we will play online?
Playchess Server OK for you?
what computer shall i operate?
choose a computer from the Wiki list that is close to the President in elo and i will operate it against your President
