Hi Steve,
yes, prices are going up, especially when the buyers don't have a lot of experience...
On the other hand, 275 Euros is not that expensive for a quite beautiful wooden board !
I remember that somebody asked recently on chesscomputers.org why the President was so "cheap" on ebay compared to some Novags like the Expert which do not even has a display...
And I don't have a good answer to this question

Hi Steve ans Alain
I agree, the President is a beautiful chessboard but for that price, with a little luck, you can find a Renaissance (without module, of course...).
Renaissance is in my opinion one of the best (with Sargon ARB) looking chessboard.
