Post by tomgdrums »

Hi there! Any more news or previews or even tantalizing teasers regarding the Chess Explorer software mentioned on the website??

Thanks!

So will the Chess Explorer be a GUI? I am just curious for some details as the new Fritz is coming out and I am assuming Shredder is due for a new release with his own GUI as well.

I just want to be able to plan where to best spend my money. :)

Chess Explorer is very hush hush right now.

Although I am guessing it is going to be some sort of GUI. (maybe only for Mac, I don't know)

I did find this info at the Sigma Chess website:

"Mark Uniacke, author of Hiarcs, is currently working on bringing a native Chess GUI to Mac OS X. This should be ready before the end of 2011. Mark has made a page on his website here, where you can check the progress of this new GUI."

Yes it is a GUI for the Mac (among other things ;-)) and it is in very active development now, we hope to make it in time for Christmas.
Best wishes,
Mark

Still waiting... Santa will be passing by this year I fear. I'm so eager to have a good chess GUI for Mac and taking full advantage of Hiarcs and Junior.

Will the chess explorer be a free upgrade for existing owners of sigma?

Will there be an HD quality 3D chess board (sigma 3D was OK)?

Can you add a play button with time increments to play back chess games
and openings etc, like a movie.

Can you allow to see the opening book in 3D mode?

Can you increase the lettering or font of the opening book so I can
CLEARLY see the book if i need to?

Can you allow to see the opening book while playing junior or hiarcs,
like the ipad hiarcs?

Can you allow an option to communicate with the computer/engine regarding openings? For example, I would like to play a queen's pawn game with white, french defense with black etc.

Can you allow the installation of the human reference book?
