Near mint Scisys Leonardo

Post by Tr0ntreez »

Hi just letting my chess computer friends know that I've listed my near mint Scisys Leonardo on ebay here:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192251342919 ... 1555.l2649

It's a little on the pricey side but you don't see a whole lot going around in this condition. I'm always happy to do some discounts for my chess computer friends so if you like what you see PM me here or message me on ebay mentioning your hiarcs or boardnation handle.

Thanks

Cheers,

Al.

to each his own i guess
some folks will pay for one-of-a-kind ..basement made ..chess computers if they look shiny and new and run at warp speeds..copied Eproms..copied manuals..any ol magnetic pieces....the box it will arrive in is probably a standard Fed Ex cardboard box..all unimportant i guess

for me...i would refuse that computer even if i was offered it for free (with free shipping)

Steve
Most bidders are not collectors, they just want a *new* chess computer
with ample playing strength, and it could be argued that in this case
they were effectively bidding on *two* computers, each from a different
program author. I suspect that contributed to the high final price.
Also, they are interested in the attractive appearance of it, very
nice furniture value, a unique unit and a conversation piece.
For us collectors, when we want more playing strength, we go to the
closet and out comes a stronger computer, so there's not a lot of
incentive for us to overclock. Although some of us do, for the fun value,
overclock a chess comp, and regard it as being separate from the
collection.
It would be a boring world if we were all the same...

You're not the only one.

Price was very reasonable until the day that Steve decided to draw attention on the auction...

So, as long as Steve prosecutes and condemns these "modders" they get

stronger and stronger

A change of politics is in order

Let's try to ignore them...

that's true
mentioning an Ebay auction on the Hiacrs forum most assuredly attracts more attention to the auction and I imagine increases the bidding
I have said many times the Mad Master Modder owes me a debt of gratitude for pointing out his modified computers
still..in the interest of the greater good..i will continue to mention his auctions when I think he has sunk to new depths or risen to new heights
(however one views his contraptions)

Are you saying Steve is the "Donald Trump" of the Hiarcs forum? ie,
he is here to make Hiarcs "great again"? He keeps a glamorous wife
a fraction of his age and combs his hair surgically?
