Lichess Piece sets for HIARCS with link; Chess.com & Lichess public data API access suggestion

Post by EloDeficit »

Greetings:

HIARCS Chess Explorer is a fantastic chess database. For the vast majority of users, it could replace and even better Chessbase, Chess Assistant, and SCID because of its simple and intuitive interface and basic tree functionality that allows any repertoire to be crossmatched with a larger database’s tree.

It would be a significant enhancement if HIARCS could take advantage of Chess.com and Lichess’ public APIs for downloading games, etc.

The chess.com published data API:
https://www.chess.com/news/view/published-data-api

E.g., access with:
api.chess.com/pub/player/{username}/games/archives

There is a Lichess public API too:
https://lichess.org/api

As for the clickbait, I formatted some open-source Lichess Chess Pieces with attributions. They come in plain, outline, outline+shadow, and glow+shadow varieties, the latter I prefer over outline+shadow. You can find them at:

Best!

This was already considered, but the existence of API makes it even more likely. Thanks for mentioning it.
