too much wood IMO.

i know people who have anything in wood in their homes.
it always reminds me on coffins in a church or something like this.
you call it furniture. ok. your definition.

there are good looking wooden chess computers (fidelity comes to my mind) and less good looking wooden chess computers.
the last 2 images are good examples for less good looking ones.

Saitek's Expert Travel

Post by cornetmike »

I'm afraid the Expert Travel has been discontinued. However, many online chess stores still have it in stock. I got this recent email from Saitek USA:

Dear Saitek

I noticed at this page no mention of Saitek's Expert Travel Chess Computer:

http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/portchess.htm

Has this model been discontinued?

I looked at this page again and the Expert Travel has mysteriously returned. Two weeks ago it wasn't there! Maybe it hasn't been discontinued..

warm regards
Mikey

p.s. As far as I know, the Expert Travel is the strongest portable made. I remember someone on this list saying it has Saitek's "President" program...

hi Mike
perhaps it is the strongest Portable Saitek now has on sale but it is not as strong as the Novag Star Sapphire which was the strongest portable ever released for sale ..rated 2180 Elo(SS) while the President was rated 1993(SS)
