New Saitek Explorer Pro

Post by mephisto »

Here's a couple of emails received from Saitek about their forthcoming new Explorer Pro
......................................................................................................
Hi
The difference between them is that the Pro uses a much more powerful program.
It also has a studies button, comes with an AC adapter and is a different colour.
The price will be approx £59.99

Explorer Pro Black = Expert strength brain/program
Comes with AC adapter 4 x AA cells.

sounds like the pro gets the typical morsch program with 32k byte rom while the normal machine has the 16K program.

The Pro is a very good looking machine for sure - though the ability to only take back 5 moves sounds odd? Perhaps it's a typo for 50?

The saddest things is the Exclusive is no longer listed on the site and neither is the Travel Expert- the end of an era?

Sad regards

Wow! Explorer Deluxe has a great innovation....put all the LED lights
smack dab in the middle of the squares so you have to play a guessing
game when you hear a 'beep'.... two games in one!

Hi Larry
Like your joke about the LED's in the middle of the squares.
Although Steve has shown you two of my earlier garden shed efforts, here is my latest Le Grande Citrine.

Like Steve I love nothing better than a wooden chess computer but to give me something to do during the long winter nights, I have in recent years redesigned a few chess computers like the Novag Citrine that you see above which comes complete with front opening that houses the LCD display.

whenever i visit people who have much wood in their homes, i feel that it is like in a coffin.

therefore: wood is when you die.

Hi
If you want to be buried in a chess computer, contact this guy here in England. I'm sure that he could knock you something up for when you go.

That's abnormal thinking. Most people have a lot of wood in their homes...it's called furniture!

No one but you would make such a bizarre connection

If you want to know what it's like to be in a coffin, have a MRI.....

The point is Thorsten, this is a forum about computer chess in all it's forms, including dedicated chess computers with the fancy and expensive models housed in wood. Top chess boards are made of wood, and so on and so forth.

Your comments are viewed as off topic trolls. Please don't do that anymore.

P.S. If you have any wooden units please feel free to pass them along to us

the point is that the last 2 "wooden" chess computers that have been shown on image look IMO very ugly.

too much wood IMO.

i know people who have anything in wood in their homes.
it always reminds me on coffins in a church or something like this.
you call it furniture. ok. your definition.

there are good looking wooden chess computers (fidelity comes to my mind) and less good looking wooden chess computers.
the last 2 images are good examples for less good looking ones.
