Maybe something like the Ipaq with pocket Fritz or similar?

Well Enrique..i know next to nothing when it comes to non-dedicated computers

for the touch screen dedicated units ,sadly there will not be much choice at the 2000 or above playing level which your friend needs to keep himself interested

the best looking touch screen is this one ..but depressingly it will only play at around 1600 Elo:

Thin Pickings Regards
Steve..

You're on the right track with the Ipaq if you're looking for power, flexibility and easy to carry.

I'm not up on the very latest, with Ipods etc., but if you shop around I'm sure you'll find exactly what fits the bill.

With better than a 2200 ELO Regards,
Terry

but WHY is excalibur bringing all those nice units out of the market with a weak program ?

why don't they put spracklen or whatever software into their nice computers, than we could buy them. instead they bring them out with ron nelsons software.

nothing against ron nelson, he made fidelity known, but the times of CC7 and others are long way down the hill and today software is much better.

i am sure we would all buy their machines if they would put
kittinger or spracklen or uniacke or rajlich software into these units.
its a pity they miss this opportunity to make good business.
What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.
Here we have a fairy tale of the day after tomorrow....

it is better like this : if you had received the four computers the same day, it would have been a great day but still only one ! Now you will have several different days with great novelties to play with

But it also mean now that there is absolutely no chance to get one of the Excalibur machines in France this year :(

Best regards,
Alain
