Congratulations to Nick and the other winners! I think Nick's avatar had us all fooled, he must really be some GM or a member of the Elder Circle, a supersecret society dedicated to collecting the dedicated chesscomputers!

Maybe Steve can enlighten us, were the Elders excluded from the competition?

Regards, Eelco

ah yes...the Elders
nice that you can still remember them Eelco

they feel that they were forgotten and dismissed as unimportant

but we will carry the torch for them !

they officially sanctioned, approved of and blessed this contest during the annual meeting of the Supreme Collector's Council so of course they would never participate themselves

Congrats to #1 and #3

Post by Dr. Axel Schumacher »

Congratulation to Nick,

that was a close one. (I knew I had to count Steve's 8 defective Savants) . Well, now I still have the Citrine on my wishlist :(
What will I do with the empty space I reserved for the Citrine?
Well, at least my wife is happy

(I'm also happy about the second place; I usually never win anything :) )

Now the question remains how much of the 483 dedicated machines belong to Steve and how much to Mark?

Cheers,
Axel

Hi Axel
Thanks and cogratulations to you as well. I also normally never win anything so this is a first !

I looked at buying a Citrine a few times but held back because I already have two Universal boards for the Sapphires I & II. Now I am glad I held back buying one :D

All the best
Nick

hi Nick
as i mentioned in my reply to Axel..
we are keeping the actual breakdown between MY collection and Marks a State Secret for use as a potential future contest question

i warn you though...your receipt of the Citrine will not be all fun and games
nay...it will be very very hard work for you because i am told the second shipped version of the Citrine will have some bug fixes and an improved book

so you will need to make hundreds if not thousands of posts here to keep us all up to date

So Relax Now ..
While You Still Can Regards
Steve
