It is just a couple of weeks to go until I board my flight to China. I spoke with Hans van der Zijden from the Rybka team and his flight arrives around the same time as mine so we can share the cost of the 50 mile/ 80 km Taxi ride to the hotel. Full coverage here on the Hiarcs forum and all Hiarcs games live on Playchess.
Only 12 entries and so with 11 rounds I guess it will become an all play all. The 12 entries are:
Falcon ISR
Jonny DEU Intel Quadcore 3.2 GHz, 4GB RAM
Shredder DEU
Cluster Toga DEU Cluster
Diep NLD
Hiarcs GBR 8 core
A rear guard AUS PC
Junior ISR
Mobile Chess CHN Nokia 6120c
Sjeng BEL
The Baron NLD
Rybka USA _________________ www.Hiarcs.com

The only worry will be if he keeps taking the mobile phone to the toilet _________________ www.Hiarcs.com |

Don't count out the Chinese! After the shady stuff they pulled in the Olympics I wouldn't be surprised if they had a bunch of 14 year old gymnast/chess prodigy's standing by armed to the teeth with stolen Nehalem chips and reverse engineered Rykba engines transmitting signals to the cell phone. |

heh! remember this one ?
| Quote: | I can't understand how i've gone astray,
I should be sailing away on a liner.
I was knocked on my back on a dock at yang-tse,
It's a hell of a way to see china.
But i'm ready.
You must be crazy...
And you got no money...
And you're a liar...
My straits are dire from the wok into the fire,
I'd like to trust you but i've broken my rickshaw.
Sometimes there's no hope in, in chasing opium,
I'd like to love you but i'm not sure what's in your eyes,
Mm, shanghai surprise.

Any info on these two? I have never heard of an australian engine named Rear Guard.
Edit:
Looking at the site, I realized that it is not a known engine competing under a different name, I was thinking it could be Peter Mckenzie (warp, Lambchop) or Bodo (Joel Veness).. I wonder if any of the australian programmers have heard of a Theo.. _________________ Goat Can maek yu tremple bettr tahn yuor waifee..baa baaa baahhaaaa.. |
