Revelation #001 delivered today to .. and breaking news
He guys,
Today UPS delivered the #001 Revelation to my good friend Steve Blincoe . I hope everything has worked out for Steve, and that he is playing away on this beautiful machine...
Anyway, a good time to reveal my cooperation with Alain Zanchetta regarding another great feature. For Windows an UCI server has been developed where you can connect to the Revelation (and Resurrection II) systems via bluetooth. Through this combination you can play the Revelation (and Resurrection II) the normal way, but instead of selecting a internal engine you can play at your home pc-speed with any engine which supports UCI protocol..
More info within a couple of days on my home website....
Greetings

If I ever produce a chess machine or contrivance of any kind, I will try NOT to sell one to Blincoe OR I will condemn myself to a shower of mails by the minute.
Something like
Blincoe: "fernando, the bloody thing does not works"
Fernando: "please, plug the electric cord in"
"Blincoe: Fernando, still does not work"
Fernando: "please pay the electric bill"
Blincoe: "Do you have it? I lost the bill"
Poor Rud regards

The Revelation contains the same exact programs and engines as contained in the Resurrection II Modules but of course incorporated into a full tournament sized.. wooden.. auto-sensory board
the board is in my opinion the most beautiful board ever released for a dedicated computer, surpassing even the Saitek Renaissance board ,Fidelity Prestige and other high end chess computers
it seems to take the best qualities of other boards and incorporates them all into one board
it has the look and feel of the Saitek Renaissance..
as with the Novag wooden boards the pieces do not have to be raised and then set down but rather can be slid across the board ..a more natural way of playing
and with 81 leds it signals the moves in a manner very similar to the Tasc boards
setting up positions is a snap with the 32 character LCD point matrix display screen
the pieces are hand carved ,very heavy in weight and easily could be the pride and joy of any collector of fine chess sets
readers of these pages will well remember this position from the Final round of the recently concluded dedicated chess computer tournament held in Paris
WHITE TO MOVE
[fen]6B1/2k4n/2p2p1P/P1P3p1/3K3P/8/5P2/1b6 w - - 0 44[/fen]
in this position the Saitek Renaissance Sparc 4mb (at 30 sec/avg) v the Novag Star Sapphire tossed away the win with 1.hxg5? agreeing to a draw 4 moves later
the winning move is 1.Bxh7!
I thought it might be interesting to perform some early testing so i entered the position into the Revelation and tested it with all 7 Engines..(an 8th engine.. Deep Sjeng 3.0 will soon be included)
Toga 1.0-1.hxg5 after 5 minutes ..17 ply
Toga 1.2-1.hxg5 after 5 minutes..15 ply
Ruffian 2.1-hxg5 after 5 minutes..14 ply
Deep Sjeng 1.8-1.Bxh7! after 111 seconds ..12 ply
Fruit 2.1-1.hxg5 after 5 minutes ..17 ply
Fruit WCCC 05- 1.hxg5 after 5 minutes ..17 ply
Rybka 2.2N-1.hxg5 after 5 minutes..15 ply
amusing isn't it?
the only engine to find the correct move is Deep Sjeng 1.8 which was out booked and suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of the Hiarcs forum team in the first team game held here (that game was against Deep Sjeng 1.8 in the Resurrection II modules)
Ironic Regards
Steve

Steve, I off course published this feedback on my website, thanks for your kind words... I changed something about the display though...Steve B wrote:The Revelation contains the same exact programs and engines as contained in the Resurrection II Modules but of course incorporated into a full tournament sized.. wooden.. auto-sensory board
