Some minutes ago I was on Playchess in the Main Room.
In the Chat stood that a player used computer for his game.
Is that correct?

Ted Summers, about cheating in blitz and even bullet games, please read the information in the well known site of "Doctor Unclear" http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Realm/8 ... in_ENG.htm Since the last century there are modified versions of chess engines playing in internet chess servers in automatic mode, that is, doing the moves for an human account... probably the cheater (not the computer chess engine) can even chat with you about the weather or philosophy while the engine wins the bullet game. The engine can even be set for lets say 1600 elo, that is enough to win easily a bullet game to an human rated 2100 or more, since bullet is not much more than basic tactics where a computer will not blunder. Playing at 1600, or so, is hard to classify the game as a cheater event. Only naive cheaters set the engines to maximum force, only when they suspect they are facing a cheater; and even that occurs frequently...Ted Summers wrote:Wow, Looking at the pgn it says he resigned a bullet game. Where did the 1977 rated player have the time to cheat??? Maybe their (Chessbase) software detection is flawed.
Hi,
Cheating goes on in the main room all the time, even a GM got caught when he won one of the big prize competitions.
There is also another possibility which used to happen on another chess playing site which was when your opponent started to use another program at the same time as the chess software a red light would come on, the problem was your opponent may have been useing MSN to chat etc so a false positive was given or maybe they were simply cheating lol
Regards
