Emulator Intellect-02
I continued to look for today different emulators of Soviet computers, and accidentally found the emulator of the chess computer intellekt-02.
A very unexpected find.

cool finding, thanks!
Smell of already seen while playing a bit with this emulator: position check displays white rook as E8, white pawn as E2... Ron Nelson Chess Challenger-like... 3 levels... CC3?

The Intellect-02 chess cartridge with three levels seems to be an exact clone of the Fidelity Chess Challenger 3 (CC3). There is a later Intellect-02 chess cartridge with four levels and a stronger program which may have Russian origins?

Do you know the functions of the 2 buttons in the 3rd column (left of A1 and F6)?
The CC3 doesn't have these extra buttons, and they are not mentioned or described on your website.

The two buttons you mention do not have any function when using the chess cartridge. They are used when playing Kalak, but I didn't get around to working out what the buttons do with the other games.

Yes, in my experiments I found that these 2 buttons seem to behave just like the CL button (also the keys '9' and '0' are not designed for the chess module).
And the RE button doesn't really work, probably only a bug in the emulator program.
I've patched the emulator a bit and replaced the Russian keys (and LED texts) by the usual English labels (just as in the CC3).

I tested the original dedicated chess computer
with the 2nd cartridge.
I made 40/120 tournament games.
The major problem with the levels was
that the level that considers around 3 minutes
a move was to weak for usage (maybe
search not deep enough) while the next level considered around 40'-1h and was too long for my test work.
Maybe in an emulator one can speed up this
Level so it can be used in a 40/120 tournament.

CB-Emu (based on MESS/MAME) can do this. https://c.gmx.net/@317206859884790529/R ... zzC2lTrlNAmclane wrote:Maybe in an emulator one can speed up this
