Adding new UCI engine

Post by P.Ilchard »

Hello, I'm just trying to add a new engine but receiving the message " The file.....(path/filename)....is not a valid UCI engine".

The engine is OpenTal_32 and works fine under Arena on the same pc. It's Windows 10, and I've successfully added other engines in the past.

I've even tried renaming the engine to remove the underscore, but to no avail.

Any ideas would be welcome!

Thanks Harvey but oddly "Unblock" doesn't show as an option on my system, even under the tab Security. And it works under Arena so presumably the Windows has passed it as OK.

And I've just read that the Unblock option doesn't appear unless the file is blocked.
