Mephisto Munchen

Post by X__Gandalf__X »

I want to keep my Munchen in pristine condition.
I don't want to leave it on display to avoid fading spots.
Are there any reasonably priced cases available?
Where do you store yours?

I have an Impos Royal, which is a privately-made board very similar to the Munchen. I keep mine in a canvas chess case sold in the USA by the US Chess Federation (http://www.uscfsales.com/chess-bags/del ... g-bag.html). I've also seen hardshell cases, both original and hand-made, available on ebay.de. The canvas bag has internal padding to protect the board.

If you look on Ebay there is a guy in Germany that makes custom wooden cases for Exclusive and Muenchen. I don't see one at the moment but he offers quite often. He charges around $200 Euro.

Best regards

I also own one of the wood cases, but for a Novag Constellation Expert. The case is very well constructed, using good hardware, and padded on the inside with a perfect fit for my computer. My one quibble would be that the wood is stained but not otherwise protected, such as with varnish or a clear shell type coating. (I'm not a woodworker, so others would probably know what's best for this type of item.) Despite the quibble, I'm very happy with the case.
Cheers,

Hi,

I bought a Munchen case off this guy last year. This auction is for an exclusive case, but at least you'll know where to look:

For the case problem I found "my " solution. Go to ebay and look for GATOR CASES. They are padded cases. I buy them a little bigger and wrap the computer in a towel. They are nice cases. The wooden cases from Germany I love but they are heavy and 200 Euros. Gator case look like the Revelation II case. They are padded and look well made

"Case" closed regards
