Game 4-5 Millennium Chess Genius Pro/Steffen - Mephisto Atlanta/MichaelP played yesterday evening is allready included!
MCGP wraps up last place with 1 game to go
Abysmal performance..for the recently released computer
only 2 draws in 10 games
clearly not a 2300 active chess Player(in this event anyway)

using the ratings shown in the Tournament Table ..MCGP's Performance rating for the event is...

2018 Regards

Hi Steve,

look at this tournament table from last year's Kaufbeuren Tournament. (Tabelle Gruppe A)

One lost game for MCGPro versus R40; one draw versus Phoenix Reflection Lyon and six victories.

Really surprising Regards
Michael

Hi Michael
an amazing difference in performances for the two tournaments
like night and day

perhaps the MCGP was using the Hiarcs book in Kaufbeuren and the standard book in your tournament?

Inconsistent Regards
Steve

Hi all,

I was watching last nights game live on Lichess, the MCG Pro reached a favourable endgame with KRPPPPP against Atlanta's KRPPP so was 2 Pawns up. It soon lost 1 of these Pawns as Atlanta's Rook was more active, but Stockfish8 still had the MCG Pro ahead, I thought it would end up a draw, but the MCG Pro managed to lose it ...

Cheers,

Al.

No, Steve, I played the MCG PRO in Kaufbeuren with the small opening book.
Same as the 4 games I played here.

Especially if you watch yesterday's game you can only shake your head. The MCG PRO had a clearly won endgame with 2 pawns more.
I tell you, it is the identical machine that won Kaufbeuren..

A Little Confused Regards

No, but this could not be the reason for the weakness.

Hi Nick,

I used book 2, the Hiarcs (human?) book.
But like Hans already noted from his testresults: it can beat any machine, but also loose (above a certain rating of course).

Next tournament again top rating regards,
Paul
