If that is correct then I could have saved $30-$40 in USA by buying from Topschach, assuming that Topschach would have removed the 19% Mehrwertsteuer from the price and assuming that the exchange rate was favorable which it probably wouldn't be.

Best regards

I just went to the Niggemann chess site in Germany at:
https://www.schachversand.de/startneue2.htm
and noticed that they say the initial production run of Millenium
Exclusives has sold out. They won't have any more until July
or so. This is good news... it shows us that the interest in the
dedicateds is alive and well. Maybe the buying chess public are
coming to the realization that chess is meant to be played three
dimensionally, ie, on a physical board with real pieces. Of course
a real wooden computer chess set also has furniture value. Factoring
in inflation, the value of top chess computers has never been better.

Niggemann had just 8 Exclusive in stock. He missed to preorder enough at Millennium.

Hi Mike,

It appears not, that's the guy on eBay I was referring to earlier in this thread.

Imagine for a moment that the PC Engine takeover of computer chess in the 1990's never occurred?
all of the money, attention and progress that shifted away from the dedicated chess computer and towards the PC engine would not have occurred
in less then two years we see a traditional dedicated chess program(Genius) go from 2300 to 2400 Elo
imagine if we had not lost those precious 20+ years of progress
dedicated computers today would be able to give minor piece odds to

Probably true, but would any of us "mere mortals" stand a chance against it?
Cheers,

Fortunately the Topschach-boy ordered much more and is selling now the rest of the inititial production for a nice price
