Hi,
Could someone explain this or point me in the right direction. What do the columns mean in the computer chess books ... such as n, N, cap, etc.
Thanks

Re: Computer chess book explaination
In what's called English descriptive notation, 'n' means black knight,Dbartol1 wrote:Hi,

'N' means white knight, 'Cap' I assume means capture. It's actually
quite intuitive once you get the idea.
Just remember, lower case for black and upper case for white.

Ok, I did half expect a reply like this. I dropped the post quickly as IDbartol1 wrote:That's not what I mean. When using an open book with a chess engine the book will show several moves that look similar to this:
"d4. N=7236, succ =53%, cap =+.23 +/- total = 10,342, Elo = 2850, year = 2016"
I'm looking for explanations for all of that.
was going to bed last night.
I don't follow this stuff myself, I was never that into it. There's got
to be someone here that can help.
