Ok no more fooling around. Einstein our new millennial chess genius was whining because he thought that someone had shrunk his Fidelity Elite. But in fact what really happened was that Morriarty had tampered with a Fidelity Elegance by skillfully painting over the computer name description, thereby expecting that people would just consider it as some kind of fake and Morriarty would be able to abscond with the very valuable Fidelity Elegance as no one would notice it missing.

Well, indeed, NO ONE ELSE :) noticed the fake artwork except for our master sleuth Holmes and his sidekick Watson. Holmes had Watson use his handkerchief and carefully wipe off the fake artwork. Case solved!

Einstein our millennial chess genius was happy, he had not even noticed that his Elegance was missing.

Next to the Elegance is the Saitek Corona. The Elegance is the smallest wooden chess computer that Fidelity made. Being smaller to me it feels a lot more sturdy and as a result in some ways I wish that they had made a range of Avant Garde computers this size starting with V2 onwards. They would have been fun.

It is however not the smallest wooden chess computer ever made as both CXG 3000 and CXG 3008 are dimensionally smaller.

I played a test game against Novag Quattro.

1. c4 e5 2. Nf3 {Fidelity Elegance out of book} e4 3. Nd4 c5 {Novag

In CCR Volume 5, 1995 Novag Quattro showed at a rating of 1662 which in my opinion seems too low. Fidelity Elegance showed at a rating of 1780. Schachcomputer.Info show Fidelity Elegance at 1802.

The game was fairly even until the endgame which Novag Quattro played better.

Best regards
Nick
