Kevin. E. leavelle

Post by Fernando »

This guy was the one that translated sargon 3 and 5 to Pc codes and I just found he died in 1994, just at 50 years of age, so if someone wanted to complain to him due to the work he did in sargon stuff, it s too late...

RIP regards

I wish Sargon 4 existed on Apple, Atari or Amiga, I bet it would have been good.

Aha...My curiosity now is about the original Turbochess produced by our new member, Kaare. In Ches-Elite incarnation I can say it plays a VERY decent game, no less....

Where do you get it?

ps... Sargon 3 PC is not so good it just lost to Sakkara Vega. I really am convinced that it is missing something. It is not the same program as Atari or Amiga.

K-Chess Elite can be got in several places, just look at google.
Respect sargon 3 not that good, well, as the saying goes, the beauty is in the beholder, same with chess strength. Probably the translation from one code to another is prone to some misfits...

Ok, mentioned as Kevin LaBelle before on Sargon's cpw page ... due to text regocnition from spoken words of Spracklen's oral history ...
Q: Okay. So it was always a Mac game?
Danny Spracklen:
No, we did have-- we do have a version of
Sargon that runs on a PC that we had an
associate that we know...
Kathleen Spracklen:
Kevin LaBelle.
Danny Spracklen:
...Kevin LaBelle translated for us.
Danny Spracklen:
And it came out-- Activision sold it.
Q: Okay.
Danny Spracklen:
It was, what, Sargon IV, I believe, that r
uns on the PC. You can still buy it today, I
guess.
Q: Okay. Did you-- when the
MacIntosh switched to, you know,
to the power PC, obviously, the
Assembly-- at the Assembly-- at
your level, things changed.
Kathleen Spracklen:
Yeah.
