Komodo 9.xx OwnBook UCI property

Post by Yarc »

Hi, I have discovered that HCE (running on my PC) is not showing the UCI option of 'OwnBook' for Komodo 9.xx. If I run up the Aquarium chess interface this option is available. Without this, I cannot enable or disable Komodo from using its komodo.bin openings book file. I have installed HCE on another computer and the option is also missing on that machine.

HCE sets OwnBook to false during analysis and true when playing as explained here by Mark Uniacke: http://hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7539

Also there's a bug in Komodo where it still uses its book when the OwnBook option is false. You can work around it by setting the 'Book File' option to an invalid path.

Thanks for the info! I've also discovered the Komodo book bug and now rename it with an underscore to _komodo.bin.
