Just recently Hiarcs has been crushing me on every ELO setting, right down to 800. I'm an awful player, but used to be able to at least score a few wins here and there, up to around 1600.
Just wondered if Hiarcs has stopped adjusting strength correctly.
The following was played on setting 800 ELO with Hiarcs as white - and I don't think this would typically represent the standard of an 800 ELO player, though correct me if all 800s are now booked up and tactically proficient!

I'm not able to reproduce those moves in my HCE with Deep Hiarcs 14 WCSC (Elo rating set to 800). Engine made a few horrible blunders and you did not find them. I started play chess 3 years ago. I was a beginner and I still didn't have any problems with 750 - 1200 ELO Hiarcs opponents at all. Maybe you play bullet or you don't think about your next moves and you make your moves immediately.Banko wrote:Just recently Hiarcs has been crushing me on every ELO setting, right down to 800. If you play quickly, so I strongly recommend play games without time control (computer will play immediately) or use "Average time per move" option. Hiarcs engine respects time control option. It simulates human play - if Hiarcs has more time, it will play stronger, if it will have less time, it will play weaker like a human player.Banko wrote:Thanks for your time, I'll analyse the game later to find what I missed.
I do play quickly, but I shan't use that as an excuse! I can barely break 1600 on the chess.com tactics trainer. The problem is my brain!
