Hi,
after almost one year of
mystic silence, I can tell you, that the baby is still alive and it is evolving into the next, the third, development stage!
Guido, who is again very busy with the Mysticum code, presented the next generation of Mysticum, which got lost of the discrete components
display and
push buttons. With the new software and a touchscreen Windows tablet or media box (like PiPo), display and push buttons are now located on the screen and can be operated here.
This leds to a more simple buildup of the whole chess computer.
Look here:
I must admit, the screen looks still simple, but it shows the principle direction. The software is still under development, but for the moment you can already play, select any engine from your archive and preset the time mode.
This picture shows an exemplary build up in 81 LED variant:
Sure, you still have to work on the board itself to wire reeds and LEDs and solder the mysticum pcb, but woodwork gets simple now. Display and push buttons are still temporary connectable but not built into the housing and not necessary for the operation of the chess computer.
Hope I could convince a big part of the dedicated chess computer fraction to open their mind and use their hands to build up a wonderful new toy...
