Actually it would suit someone who is not a collector but would like
to play chess software programs on a good old fashioned playing surface.
Notice the seller is pulling the standard "no power supply, can't test it"
trick.
It was modified some time ago, the keyboard looks like it's from a
Commodore 64.

PS Show me any chess computer, and I will show you a future manual
chess set.

This Rocket Scientist lists an Orion chess computer 27 times in 27 separate auctions rather then one auction showing 27 available for sale

Hello Guys,

Well maybe i have the solution of the strange cable
I am pretty sure this a cable for the Kits of Schaetzle + Bsteh
http://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/index.php/TurboKit

So this 2100 bird did run on 16 ore 18mhz with that kit
I have also 2 TK Kits and cable,s are the same.

When the kit is disconnected, u can open the computer and remove the cable of the board , power up and the computer will run with it,s original speed
With this kit on the 2100 on 16-18mhz the elo will increase a lot
2070+- with normal 5mhz 1872 elo
But this i find strange , on the wiki elo list the 2100 is with 5mhz ,but i am pretty sure it must be 6mhz , because mine have original 6mhz
But as we know about other release of Fidelity it can be that they have released a 5mhz and later a 6mhz version, look to the CC9 with 3 kinds of different speed

Well i hope i solved the cable problem

Hi Hans
Thanks for info on this modification

as to the clock speed..Wiki is right
The Eag 2100 is the Par Excellence running in the Eag board
both were originally released and sold at 5 Mhz
personally never heard of Fidelity offering Clock speed updates for the EAG 2100 but i guess this was possible

Modifying Madness Regards

Actually i am a bit surprised
didnt even crack $1000 Like the other broken and modified EAG's have recently
perhaps its because the board didnt have enough wrong with it?
a good solid hammer blow to the wood would have caused enough cosmetic damage to push it up well over $1000

Bottoms Up Regards

Hi Steve,

Yes.... well look at this http://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/in ... igner_2100
and http://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/in ... rnier_2010 ,scroll here all the way down  and look tournament table

I won and the Par Excellence was last.... this can not be if they have the exact program ,in fact Dirk the owner did say that as well there , how that can be ,because he also assume the 2100 and par Excellence are the same. I remember that . Also i did 2 test games at mine house ,but the Par did play other moves then the 2100 ,so i am definitely sure that they are not the exact same program

But there are more mistakes in the Wiki then we know
I know a few , like the CC ELite "Travemunde" is 100% not the Travemunde program at all ,but that secret will be on line soon :D

Inspector regards,Hans

Actually the Designer 2100 was released at 6 Mhz
so once again the Wiki is correct
none of the other "Par equipped" Fidelity Computers were
no brochures or data sheets i have on the EAG 2100 mention 6 Mhz
sorry Hans ..it never happened
i didnt mean to imply the Par Excellence and EAG 2100 were exactly the same..i should have said they both had the Par Program running at 5 Mhz
actually the EAG specs are slighty different then the Par Excellence
for example the EAG had more ROM then the Par Excellance
again.. its possible some EAG 2100's were upgraded to 6 Mhz..although i suspect this was either done at home or perhaps only by European Distributors

5 only Regards
Steve
