Which opening book for HIARCS UCI-Engine?

Post by Uli »

Hi,

i now use Hiarcs UCI-Engine without Chessbase first time and need to know which format of book it uses (whats the ending, *.hbk or what)? Is there a way to create such own books?

Thank you for your help. Please answer to

Which GUI are you using Hiarcs in? You can probably create a book to run in that GUI.

I want to use it with my Mysticum chesscomputer (which can use UCI- and Winboard-Engines!) with HIARCS 11.1 UCI. What kind of book does this Hiarcs use (not ctg becaue not under CB!)?

How can i create a book or where can i find books for the UCI-Version of Hiarcs?

hbk is Hiarcs own book format. You can of course use a ctg in the CB GUI. You can buy updated hbk books here http://www.hiarcs.com/chess-opening-book.htm

All Hiarcs versions since 1991 can use the hcs book format. These books are available in the book subscription service and also new hcs books are released with each major upgrade.

Hiarcs 11.1 can use them (although I recommend you update to the 11.2 version as that is better).
Best wishes,
Mark
