More details in this thread http://www.hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic. ... 2960#52960

This is the tournament where everybody has to use = hardware to try and find who has the best software.

Now this is a fair competition. Is the only way to find out who has the best software.
Is this the first time that there is a world championship where all the participants have to use an equal hardware?

Congratulations!

For posterity, could you tell us what the uniform hardware platform was this year? Do you remember what it was last year?

Intel Dual core at 1.83, 2gb ram, 64 bit windows and 80gb hard drive. Although that may seem slow to many here it is probably typical of a large number of home users.

There is a dedicated chess machine that is near this uniform hardware Intel 1. 6 ghz 2 gb ram 60 gb hard drive so maybe in one or 2 years dedicated will be back to the world chess championship if this type of equal hardware goes on in the world chess computer champinship.

dedicated regards
