GK 2100 and a stupid question

First of all, I lack a manual for this thing, so I am flailing around when it comes to setting levels. Looks like GK 2100 uses the same level-setting protocols as other Saitek models, but I'd be truly grateful for some pointers. (The Zenchetta site, which is so useful for manuals, doesn't seem to have this one, oddly enough.)

Second, when playing this machine (or any machine), how do you know when you're playing against its maximum strength (apart from infinite settings)?

I don't see much difference between avg/3 mins/move vs a 40/120 time limit. Most of the high-end machines seem to have both settings.

Saitek released the GK2100 program in several different models
one of them is the President
Alain has the President manual on his site.. in German
the 64 level settings are exactly the same as the GK2100
so just download it and you have a nice chart with all of the levels


not sure there is any difference between 3 min/Avg and 40/2 in terms of strength so i personally wouldn't worry about that
the 40/2 level is mainly to keep the computer to a more rigid time control to practice tournament playing conditions

however there are some settings that need to be maximized

the power on default settings are the strongest settings for the computer so unless you change something you are good to go
however just in case..make sure ..
EASY option is OFF
Selective Search is ON
