Palm Hiarcs 9.6 v Resurrection Rybka

Post by Mark Uniacke »

This Sunday 14th Oct Palm Hiarcs will playing a short match with Ressurrection Rybka on the playchess server at 11am server time.

We hope to get 4 games of 15 minutes played time permitting.

It will be an interesting test to see how the 500Mhz Rybka competes with the 400Mhz Palm Hiarcs 9.6.

We can repeat the match with the new Palm Hiarcs engine in a few weeks.

I think Steve is calling this the US-UK Sunday Morning Rapid World
Championships

If you want to watch on the server look out for the OutOfWork and Behemoth handles.

We hope to see you there.
Best wishes,
Mark

Hi, Mark

We are glad to hear that.
Could you also give us some detail about your opponet "Ressurrection Rybka", as we can not get any information on it.

The Conclusion of this historical match will take place THIS Sunday(Oct.21)
at 11am Chess Base Server time

Mark(not satisfied with his crushing advantage in just the Correspondence game alone )is also currently leading this match with his Palm Hiarcs .. 1.5-.5
with two remaining games to be played,PH will have the white pieces in game 3

after some last minute opening prep(provided by member T.summers) and adjustments to the realtive piece values(kuddos to member Mackgra) ..not to mention some tweaking of the null move pruning algorithm(thanks Wardy).. i anticipate that Res II will be making a strong come back and i feel comfortable making the following bold prediction....

the match WILL have a clear cut winner

Going Out On A Limb Regards

the fourth game was canceled due to Mark not being able to complete the game for personal reasons

the match originally slated to be four games has now been extended to five games with the remaining two games to be played in the near future(exact date not yet determined)

Dead Locked at 1.5-1.5 Regards
