Of course there are workarounds; up to line 4, i do all like you, but instead of AUTO ANSWER = OFF, i simply move 1.c4, then i take back black's (at this moment it is ETC) answer and replace it with the actual played move of ETC's opponent. then the game continues normal with white's (ETC) answer.mclane wrote: ?
you can easily let it play with white from the bottom:
make new game.
make enter.
it plays - lets say 1.c4
press new game
make option AUTO ANSWER = OFF
input 1.c4 from the bottom, white pieces playing to the top.
make option AUTO ANSWER = ON again
and input the answer on ETC's move, e.g. 1...c6
into the machine. it computes WITH book and i had never any problems.
Should be somewhat easier than your method...
But nevertheless i prefer a computer, that does it without workarounds...
(even more when it's the same program, but with less bugs!)
