Collectors Corner..The Scandal Of All Ages
All collectors Know of the Novag Disney Magic Castle(Art. No.1983)
shown below it is more of a toy rather then a serious chess computer
it contained a very weak chess program(as well as 3 other games) programmed by Kittinger
http://www.flickr.com/photos/10261668@N ... 922171918/
less well know however is the infamous Red Magic Castle(Art. No.1986)
well now i can report with a heavy heart..the Red Magic Castle is NOT a chess computer at all!
but rather only a playing board with no electronics in it what so ever
shown here ..the board is simply used to play 4 different games with a large yellow dial to slide the playing surface to change between different markings on the squares
http://www.flickr.com/photos/10261668@N ... 922171918/
i have just now made this grim discovery when i received my second Red Castle
upon re-checking my first Red Castle it seems that the chess computer inside the Red Box is the same exact computer as the Blue Castle!
this can only mean that the seller of the First Red Castle either replaced the game board with a Blue Castle computer or he himself did not know the difference
The Red Castle has now been EXPELLED from the Ultra Rare Collection and its name forever removed from all records, books and tabloids for all time:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/10261668@N ... 03/detail/
i will leave the photos of the Bogus Red Castle in the Novag collection (clearly marked as not a chess computer)
as a living testament to my ignorance
Criminal Proceedings Are Now Underway Regards

Hi Steve,
last year, I bought a Novag Disney Castle in France... it looked as the "famous" castle but I could not find a switch, adapter plug... and finally discovered that it was not an chess computer at all
A few weeks ago, I bought a Castle from the seller in Switzerland who sells many of them, so now I have both
I don't have a box for my non-electronic castle, so
The Red Box remains rare regards
Alain

We all win some and lose some My condolences to you. If the
Red Castle was advertised as a 'computer' then perhaps you should
report the matter to ebay as well as giving a negative feedback.
You should get a refund.

Re: Collectors Corner..The Scandal Of All Ages
Hi Steve,
I always thought, it were identical computers with the only difference, that the one with the red box had two rows of buttons and the blue castle all on the right side...
But as i now saw: the lettering on the blue box (on Alain's photo) says: 4 in 1 Electronic games
and the red box in your gallery only says: 4 in 1 game board...
but i would have never noticed this without your discovery!
i feel with you...
discovery channel regards,
Robert
That's unbelievable news! This would have never come to my mind!Steve B wrote:All collectors Know of the Novag Disney Magic Castle(Art. No.1983)

Your first red castle was packed in a red box, and you did not saw that the blue castle (you still have) and the red boxed castle looked same?!
And with the last "red castle" you got (not from ebay i hope) you have the "real" red castle which looks different to the blue one and is not electric?!
Correct?
Puhh, that is hard Regards
José
