Question about Palm Hiarcs 9.6

Hello to all,

i'am using Palm Hiarcs 9.6 on my palm TX 316 MHz

with a level on User time controls 120 min

it seems that it not doing well on finding the best move,

some game he did a big mistake, i don't know what to do

i visit Palm Hiarcs site to find a response and to choose the best features with no solution.

please tell me if you have any ideas about that.

don't tell to change the Palm on 416 Mhz

Two questions for you -

1) Do you have Elo Level set to Unlimited?

2) Have you selected Optimise from the Engine Room menu?

Hi Nizar,

Either email me or post the game/position where you think there is a mistake and I can tell you if you have Hiarcs playing on its highest level.

Basically Pete is right you need to have the elo level on unlimited and optimise the engine room parameters for best play. If the elo is set to a set elo it will play weaker deliberately.

It plays extremely well on its unlimited levels and has defeated a number of GMs in matches on those levels.

I notice that when i save game it create every time a new version

why there is no option to replace the same game to have only one version the latest for any game played ?

Looking at the 2nd quick game it is clear you don't have Palm Hiarcs set up for best play.

Please download the huge book, I suspect you are using the small book. Certainly black's move 3 is not in the Palm Hiarcs book and hence it would never play 3...Nf6 from book.

Secondly at move 11... Palm Hiarcs 9.6 sees Rg8 is losing badly and switches to Kd7 which gives much more resisitance to the white attack.

Please use the huge book with optimised engine settings and I think you will find it somewhat harder

On my Zire 72, Hiarcs 9.6 switches from Rg8 to Kd7 in 20 s in "Solid Style" with "No Combinaisons".

I believe that you (Zinar) saying : "I don't understand Hiarcs is not so strong, I beat him in 15 moves..." is not so fair as.... you played a nice game who is very difficult for all the computers to defend.

No especially for Hiarcs but for ALL the computers.

Remark about Hiarcs Palm strength : i think that the "Combinaisons" options ON make Hiarcs weaker in defense with Mat attacks against his King (Mark, are you agree).

In "Normal Style", 38s whith the "Combinaisons" options OFF and 62s with the "Combinaisons" options ON.
