Yes, this cross table is only updated after the next round has started - so you'll have to wait until Friday.

Hi Sebi,

You are right its almost 6 months since you spilled beer on me in Leiden but still I can smell it you nutter.

Harvey
Hi Harvey,

Maybe a change of clothing would be in order after six months then :) Sorry, could not resist... Was it those special brown coloured pants that you had ordered over the Internet?

Harvey maybe you get get one of these nxt time Jeroen Noomen tries to shoot some holes into your repertoire!

It's bullet-proof and matches pants!

Hi Eelco,

Before I went to iraq, for the BBC, during the last Gulf War i was sent on a special course. I still have all the kit in a special bag under my bed. I will take it next time I meet Sebi.

Harvey I can see the BBC takes absolutely no chances with the safety of its employees! But wasn't it a bit difficult talking into a microphone for you as a radioreporter dressed like this?

I wonder if you were approached by any burka wearing women over there in Iraq, this suit must have been to their liking!

Did the BBC instructors also tell you what to do in case you had to go to the bathroom quick?

Hi Eelco,

The bathroom can be fun. I have a photo somewhere of 3 of us in the NBC suites using the special rubber straw you are supplied with to drink water. However we improvised and the 3 of us have 3 straws going into a litre bottle of Johnny Walker Red Label.

The one thing i found amazing about Baghdad was that with all the crap that was going on you could still make a phone call and get a Pizza delivered!?

Best Wishes,

Harvey

Hi chess fellows,

I really don't wanna know what else these 3 guys did in this certain bathroom and then so far away from their homes. But as we all know Harvey does still have the beer scent so maybe that's what they did: having beer games in the bathroom!

Muhahaha regards,
Sebastian

The Table so far
The Final 4 rounds are played this weekend.

Round 6 starts at 1400 CB server time and round 7 at 1900. That is 1300 and 1800 UK time and I think 0800 and 1300 in New York. Please tell me if I got that wrong.

Rounds 8 and 9 are at the same times tomorrow.

If some of you are wondering what freestyle is all about:

Hi,
Going through the early part of the game with different engines plus my own brain, I think the writeing was on the wall from move 17.Bxd4 Giving up the dark squared bishop just seems wrong at least to my eyes, maybe Nd1 is better and which is a theme in the closed sicilian .... Before this though 5.h3 I assume you are trying to play a reversed opening and make use of the extra tempo, but! is the tempo any good? .. In my own book I even have 7.Nge2 in red and with a ? after it .... 14.g5?! releasing the tention does not feel right, in many of the games I know and have played even if you try to penetrate down the h file the king can run away via f7 and whites king tends to be draftier anyway. 15.h4 also seems to slow and blacks counter play seems far more dangerous and is easier to play.

The first new move in my database is 13... Bd7, others have gone with 13...b5 but Bd7 seems stronger
