Yes, my hope is that these matches will continue and I can start publishing the older versions and we make progress through time so to speak.

I will strip out the copy protection of the old dos versions so everyone can enjoy them. It will take a little time for me to get it all done though.

Steve, are we still on for the next match up this Sunday coming?

Hi Steve,

as this is such an important CC challenge maybe you should start a new thread with the details?

time control.. game 30 minutes

Ok, the 1990 version is eager to get the challenge on and show the old fidelity upstart a thing or two.

Sunday at 11am server time it is.

It will certainly keep me fit - I will need to put the Amiga across the other side of the room and rush between the pc and the amiga to make the moves.

This 1990 version is probably not that much better than the 1989 version. It took off for Hiarcs after the 1990 Olympiad as I started to develop Hiarcs on a Sun Sparc station which in its day was pretty fast (486/33Mhz speed! )

The big factor was the much improved development environment eg. having a hard disk!

We still think 1990 Hiarcs on the Amiga has enough in its tank to send Steve's LA rushing down into the basement to call on Deep Blue for help!?

HI Alain
it comes from an old Fidelity Brochure which discussed the inner workings of the company itself as well as the chess computers
i have this brochure posted in full on my web site here:
