RS Chess Master leads 2.5-1.5
Both computers played almost flawless chess, each with just 1 mistake and no blunders. It resulted in a Rook and pawn endgame draw. Here's the final position:
[fen]5R2/6r1/8/7P/4k2K/5p2/8/8 w - - 13 83[/fen]
RS Chess Master maintains a slim 2.5-1.5 lead. Do we have an upset in the making? Still a long way to go.

RS Chess Master takes a 3.5-1.5 lead
This was a shocking game. RS Champion 2250XL built up a nice advantage and should've won, but inaccurate moves frittered away its lead, and we were left with what should've been an easy draw. But no, yet more inaccurate moves and the RS Chess Master played a more accurate endgame to take a 3.5-1.5 lead. Upset in the making!
[fen]8/8/5p2/K4k1p/P6P/8/8/8 w - - 0 61[/fen]
Here's the key position. Every move in the endgame matters. If Black plays Kg4, the draw is still intact. But after Ke5, it's Mate in 23 for White.

RS Chess Master leads 3.5-2.5
The RS Champion 2250XL comes roaring back with a nice tactical victory. It's nice to see a King pawn opening again. RS Chess Master makes a huge blunder here:
[fen]5k2/1R6/8/P4Kp1/rP4Bp/7P/3b4/8 w - - 5 63[/fen]
Things are already pretty tough for Black, but the correct move here is Rxb4. After Kg8??, however, there's no hope.

Exciting match! The RS Chess Master is a mysterious machine with some testing suggesting it may be a GK2100 clone rather than a GK 2000, but this is controversial and contested. I think this will be a close match and while the XL2250 may win I think the match score may only be 7.5 -5.5 in its favour, largely due to a slightly faster processor. Looking forward to the remaining games!

Match is tied 3.5-3.5
The RS Champion 2250XL evens the match with this tactical overwhelming of the RS Chess Master. White made a very dubious exchange sacrifice here:
[fen]r5k1/pp3ppp/1q2pn2/1N1p4/2nP4/P2QPN2/1PR2PPP/6K1 w - - 1 18[/fen]
I'm not sure what the RS Chess Master was thinking here. To my eyes, there's no good rationale for RxN here, and SF agreed, sending the evaluation from 0.8 to over 5.0 for the RS Champion 2250XL.

RS Chess Master leads 4.5-3.5
The RS Chess Master retakes the lead with this amazing game where RS Champion 2250XL looked to have a winning Kingside attack, only to see it peter out and the RS Chess Master now leads 4.5-3.5 in this crazy match.
[fen]4rk2/5p1R/p1p1p3/q1N2p2/2Pb4/1P5Q/5PPP/6K1 w - - 2 31[/fen]
Here White makes a huge blunder with Qh6+. Instead, Nd7+ is much stronger, but after the Queen check, SF analysis favors Black (RS Chess Master) by over 7.0!

Match is tied 4.5-4.5
The RS Champion 2250XL ties the match again with this tactical gem. After 27...c4, White can't take the pawn with the Queen because of mate in 6.
[fen]5rk1/1p2p3/pq1p3p/3Pb1p1/1Pp1P3/PRNQ3P/2P2rP1/R6K w - - 0 28[/fen]
But White takes the pawn anyway, so Mate in 6.

RS Champion 2250XL takes a 5.5-4.5 lead
The RS Champion 2250XL takes the lead with its second straight tactical drubbing of the RS Chess Master. I don't think I've ever seen a game get so tactically complex so quickly. Look at this position:
[fen]rnb1r1k1/pp3ppp/8/3q4/4nB2/3BPN2/P1Q2PPP/R4RK1 w - - 0 16[/fen]
White takes advantage of Black's lack of development to play 16. Ne5!. So many tactical traps here, and White calculates them better than Black.

RS Champion 2250XL leads 6.5-4.5
RS Champion 2250XL is really on a roll now, with its third straight victory over the RS Chess Master. In the following position, RS Chess Master, already in a tough spot with Black's advanced a-pawn, makes a fatal decision:
[fen]2q3k1/6p1/4p2p/1Q1pNp2/2nP4/p1P1P2P/5PP1/6K1 w - - 0 31[/fen]
Here White played NxN. Why on earth would it trade a piece needing every resource to try to stop that passed pawn? RS Champion 2250XL opens up a 6.5-4.5 lead in the match.

RS Champion 2250XL leads 7.5-4.5
The RS Champion 2250XL continues its remarkable run with this nice win, moving to within one point of winning the match. Another very accurate game from the unit, with just one mistake and no blunders. Here's a position where the tide began to turn in White's favor:
[fen]1r4k1/5rb1/pq4pp/p1p1p3/8/1PPPR1P1/Q2N3P/R5K1 w - - 5 31[/fen]
Here Black doubled its Rooks with Rf8, but the more accurate move is the aggressive 31...c4, keeping up the pressure by attacking White's hanging Rook. RS Champion 2250XL leads 7.5-4.5, having taken 6 of the last 7 points.

RS Champion 2250XL wins 8.5-4.5
The RS Champion 2250XL wins the match in fine style with yet another tactical crush. The unit really got moving after it's slow start, winning 7 of its last 8 games. Here's where Black really put the screws to White:
[fen]r1b1r1k1/p3bppp/1qp2n2/1p1n4/5P2/2PB1N2/PPQBN1PP/3RK2R w K - 6 16[/fen]
White HAS to play h3 to prevent Black's next move. Instead, White plays Ng5, and it's all over after Black plays Ng4. White has to shed material to get out of the jam.

Hi referee,
Objection!!
8.5 - 5 is an impossible score, the sum of both figures should be a whole number!
So I declare myself the winner of this bet...!
Let the reward come my way regards,
Paul

The next match is rolling right along, with the RS Master 2200X leading Excalibur Ivan 4.5-1.5. I'll try to get the games uploaded later today.
I am joking, nice matches Tracy and happy to take the draw with Paul
