Well, we were expecting that. :)
And after extensive analysis and much heated debate we chose the simple and straight forward:

1...c5

I've recently played Alapin which is an interesting opening. But I think white have better winning chances with:

2.Nf3

2...d6

Alapin's Opening you say......What color did you play and what was the game result?

3.d4 (if 3...cxd4 then 4.Nxd4)

I know it's not forced. But the main idea of playing Sicilian is to exchange the flankpawn for the centrepawn.

I played 2.c3 as white in the Alapin. I got strong initiativ but had to settle for a draw.

Agree, thanks for offering the conditional and we accept and play:

4...Nf6

The Alapin with 2. c3.....I bet that was a fun game. I've only seen analysis on 2. Ne2, but, I don't have a large reference library.

EDIT: Sorry, you were probably refering to the "Sicilian Defence, Alapin Variation", 1. e4 c5 2. c3 *.

And now a shocker:

5.Nc3 :)

My wrong. I should have used the word variation instead of opening.
My Alapin continued 2...Nf6 3.e5 Nd5 4.d4 cxd4 5.Nf3 Nc6 6.cxd4 d6 7.Bc4

I can post the game if there's interest.

Ah, the good old Najdorf. Well, why not.

6.Be3

I choose the english variation, as a courtesy. :)

6.Bg5 is to mainstream, don't you think?

The Najdorf,English is possibly becoming the "new" mainstream.
Regardless, we treat each of your very courteous moves with extreme caution.
Thus:

6...e5

Your Sicilian,Alapin game has been printed and is now in my reference library.....Thanks again Tony for posting.

7.Nb3

I guess that 7.Nf3 is more cautious, but that's not the point with this game, is it.
