Yep, I (and H12) was expecting that.
H12 on my laptop has two main lines - one which is pretty much identical to my plan and one which continues 9.Bb5 - interesting idea.
I will continue with my plan and offer your team a conditional to consider.
9.exf6 dxc4 10.fxg7 Rg8 11.Re1+ Be6 12.Bg5 Qd5 13.Nbd2 Rxg7 14.Ne4
Have fun!

Well that didn't take you very long!
14... Rg6 was not the move I expected; I thought you might play 14... Kf8 as this appears in games I have seen; clearly not tempted though!
Knowing what I know about the calibre of people in your team, along with of course their many resources I guess 14... Rg6 is an improvement? The line that I (and H12) can see continues . . .
15.Nh4 I offer the following as a continuation 15... Rxg5 16.Nf6+ Ke7 (H12 thinks Kd8) 17.Nxd5+ Rxd5 18.Qb1 (on my laptop H12 believed Qf3 but after some thought changed to my preference 18.Qb1 - so apart from the score (H12 feels white has the edge - looks equal to me) all is in harmony in the Overton household).
Over to you folks.
David

Hi, yes we have been working hard on this game!
who knows perhaps we can add to the theory on the Evans Gambit!
