That's fine with me folks.

I fly out to Northern Ireland on Monday morning; back Wednesday night. So, if you do decide to play 6... exd4 then I will continue 7.O-O

BTW, Hiarcs believes 7.O-O (on my machine anyway!) to be best; so my partner and I agree so far! :o)

Yep, I (and H12) was expecting that.

H12 on my laptop has two main lines - one which is pretty much identical to my plan and one which continues 9.Bb5 - interesting idea.

I will continue with my plan and offer your team a conditional to consider.

9.exf6 dxc4 10.fxg7 Rg8 11.Re1+ Be6 12.Bg5 Qd5 13.Nbd2 Rxg7 14.Ne4

Have fun! :-)

Well that didn't take you very long! :-(

14... Rg6 was not the move I expected; I thought you might play 14... Kf8 as this appears in games I have seen; clearly not tempted though! :-(

Knowing what I know about the calibre of people in your team, along with of course their many resources I guess 14... Rg6 is an improvement? The line that I (and H12) can see continues . . .

15.Nh4 I offer the following as a continuation 15... Rxg5 16.Nf6+ Ke7 (H12 thinks Kd8) 17.Nxd5+ Rxd5 18.Qb1 (on my laptop H12 believed Qf3 but after some thought changed to my preference 18.Qb1 - so apart from the score (H12 feels white has the edge - looks equal to me) all is in harmony in the Overton household).

Over to you folks.

Hi, yes we have been working hard on this game! :D

who knows perhaps we can add to the theory on the Evans Gambit!

Well we (H12 and me) continue . . .

19.cxd4 if your team continues 19... Bxe1 then 20.Qxe1

I'm back late tonight so may not see any response until tomorrow.

Hi Folks,

Yes, 20... Rd8 is a good move.

For a while H12 thought white should continue 21.f4; eventually changing to the move I selected (and the more natural) 21.Nf3

H12 now assesses the position as equal; I tend to agree although I do prefer blacks position in this line.
