Continue with Computerchess I'll be back

Post by Thomas Wallendik »

Hi,

after a long time i continue with computerchess and write in the Chess-forums.

At the moment i run a Match over 10 games between the brandnew Naum 4 MP and Hiarcs 12 (CB-Version).

I posted the games, when the match is over.

I let play with the following settings:

Naum 4 and Hiarcs 12 used both 1024 Megabyte Hashtables. I have installed 4 Gigabyte RAM at my computer. The Level is: 40 Moves in 240 Minutes (first and all the following timecontrols).
All 3-4-5-Men Endgame-Tablebases from Nalimov and a couple of Six-Man EGTBS of Nalimov (totaly 30 Gigabytes) on my TAKE-MS 32 Gigabyte Compact Flash Card ( Speed is 120 x).
The Tablebases-Cache is 64 Megabytes.

I run the match under the Deep Fritz 11 GUI (Original without an update).

My Computer is a Single-CPU Intel Pentium 4, 2,533 Gigahertz.

After two games Hiarcs leads with 1,5 to 0,5 versus Naum 4.

Hiarcs 12 i let played with Sharpen PV on in the Engine-Options.

The uses Level 40 MOVES in 240 MINUTES is only private and must be not good. I make an another Level. All People runs their matches with very fast Levels. But this is not good for me. I only run all (Matches and Round-Robin-Tournaments) with one of the following levels:

1. 40 Moves in 120 Minutes and 256 Megabyte Hash
2. 40 Moves in 180 Minutes and 512 Megabyte Hash
3. 40 Moves in 240 Minutes and 1024 Megabyte Hash.

The quality of the games are so high.

Best
